Ofsted reports

I am pleased to share our Ofsted report of 13th December 2017.

It is an accurate picture of our school, but more importantly it is a report that confirms our own evaluation and that of our governing body.

There are many elements of which we are proud, including that we are a college which is “really caring”, where we “work together for a common purpose”, where students have “made significant progress since the start of the school year”, where students are “courteous to each other and to the adults” and where staff are “vigilant and have a secure understanding of safeguarding issues”.

This is down to the commitment of everyone involved at Ibstock Community College. The references to our strong leadership, our honesty and our progress since our last inspection are all aspects which I am delighted to have had recognised by Ofsted.

I believe there are always aspects of our provision that can be improved and we have already been implementing plans to develop our provision further. We are pleased that the report identifies that attendance for students in vulnerable groups has already risen and that we are closing the attainment gap for disadvantaged students. We will continue to work on these areas to ensure that all students make strong progress and are prepared for future success in their studies.
