Academy

Ibstock Community College gained academy status in September 2012. Academies are state-funded independent schools that receive funding directly from central government rather than through the local authority.

Academy status provides schools with greater freedom to innovate and raise standards. It allows for the national curriculum to be adapted and personalised to meet the needs of our students. This personalisation ensures high quality outcomes in terms of the skills, knowledge, understanding and experiences through a curriculum that has breadth, depth and clear preparation for the rigours of GCSE and post-16 education.

By being an academy, Ibstock Community College is able to make its own decisions on how the college is run with more autonomy on how key resources are deployed ensuring the best outcomes for our students.

The college's on-going commitment is to provide an excellent education with outstanding opportunities at the heart of the local community.
