As we move into the final few weeks of rehearsals, we wanted to make sure you are up to date with everything regarding School of Rock. Since we started rehearsals we have been so impressed by the effort the students have made to bring this production together.
Rehearsals - a final schedule of rehearsals has been prepared for June (see link above). This schedule is also available on the music room door. Please prompt students to check the schedule carefully to ensure they attend the rehearsals they are required for. As we move into the final few weeks before the show, it is paramount all students attend all rehearsals required with costumes by the second week back after half term. Rehearsals will continue to take place at lunchtimes and after school every Thursday and Friday from 15:20 to 16:30. Students need to be prompt to rehearsals to enable us to make the most of the rehearsal time.
Scripts - all students must have learned their script ready for final rehearsals after half term. We need to move rehearsals into the final stages but we are being hampered by students who do not know their lines off by heart. Please could you help your child by reading through their lines with them to support this.
All-day dress rehearsals - we have two dress rehearsals confirmed for the following dates:
Performance dates and times - our confirmed show performance dates are:
Performances will start at 19:00 - all students involved will need to arrive in school at 17:30 every evening to prepare for each show.
Rock got no reason, rock got no rhyme, you better get me to school on time...

We have been overwhelmed by the number of students wanting to be involved in our production of ‘School of Rock.’ Auditions have been held and the cast has been decided. The full cast list is available for students on the door to the music room.
A schedule for rehearsals has been prepared up to the May half-term break. The schedule is available below and on the music room door. Please prompt your child to check the schedule carefully to ensure they attend the rehearsals they are required for. Rehearsals will take place at lunchtimes and after school every Thursday and Friday from 3.20pm to 4.30pm. However, not all students will be needed for every after school rehearsal. Students need to be prompt to rehearsals to enable us to make the most of the rehearsal time. For the next rehearsal timetable (Wednesday 10th May to Friday 26 May 2017), CLICK HERE.
All-day dress rehearsals will also be held on the following dates:
Please complete the REPLY SLIP as soon as possible so we are aware of arrangements regarding students getting home at the end of after-school rehearsals.
We are really pleased to inform you that we are planning on a production of “School of Rock” to be performed on Wednesday 21 to Friday 23 June 2017.
For those of you who do not know the story, the play tells the story of a musician who pretends to be a school teacher and builds a band of school students to take part in the local “Battle of the Bands”.
Auditions for the production will take place before half-term at lunchtimes and after school. All are welcome to audition. Students who do not currently play an instrument are all welcome – please do not feel that this will be essential as we have a range of approaches that are in place to support the performance. Students who are interested in a part in the play will need to sign up.
Taking part in a play is a serious commitment to a project and to teamwork. We want to involve as many students as possible but we need to have students who will be able to commit to rehearsals at lunchtimes and after school. We will be rehearsing on Mondays to Thursdays at lunchtime and after school on Thursdays and Fridays until 16:30. In addition, we will also be having weekend rehearsals on the weekends of 10 and 17 June. The number of rehearsals that your child will be involved in will obviously depend upon the nature of the role they have in the production.
The production will be hard work but very rewarding. If your son or daughter wishes to be involved, please complete and return the parental consent form and discuss the importance of keeping to the strong commitment we need from everyone.
