We are proud of our dedicated team of professionals who are committed to delivering high quality childcare. Almost all team members are qualified to Level 3 in childcare with some staff holding their Early Years Teacher Status. All of our staff hold a paediatric first aid certificate along with a safeguarding qualification. Within the nursery we have three members of staff who are Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL). Our team of highly experienced staff have spent years working in childcare settings, as well as in many cases - being parents and grandparents themselves. We pride ourselves in ensuring our staff member’s knowledge remains up to date to support both our children and their families through continued professional development.
Becky is our Acting Nursery Manager, she has a foundation degree in children’s and young people’s services, a first-class honours degree in Education and SEN and a PGCE with Early Years Teacher Status. Becky is also our Nursery DSL and SENCo. Becky constantly pushes to gain further support for our most vulnerable children working alongside outside agencies in achieving this. Becky enjoys working with all age groups across the nursery from the toddler room right through to our juniors in Out of School Club! Becky is also first aid trained.
Steph has an NVQ level 3 and Leadership level 2. Steph has been at the nursery for over nine years and started off as an apprentice! Steph has experienced working in all rooms and with all age groups. She became our toddler room leader in 2015 and is now our deputy manager and staff support mentor. Steph is also one of our nursery DSL’s. She has also completed training in; First Aid and Play Champions. Steph is due to go on Maternity Leave in May and we’re all extremely excited to meet her little one!
Amy has been with the nursery for just over nine years. She started at the nursery as a student whilst studying her NVQ level 3. Since then she has been the toddler room leader, temporary deputy manager and, since 2015, the nursery manager. Amy is also the after school club leader and works in ratio between 15:00 and 18:00. Amy has completed her level 5 in business management; DSL training; first aid and Leadership in Early Years. Amy is currently on maternity leave but we look forward to welcoming her back in the new year!
Simone has worked in childcare since 2008. Simone has completed her foundation degree in Early Years; BA hons in Education Studies and Early Years Teacher Status. Simone has completed both her First Aid and Safeguarding training. Simone prepares our children for their transition to ‘big school’ and has a close relationship with the teachers at our local feeder schools.
Alice holds her NVQ level 3 in Childcare. Alice has completed Building Brighter Futures training, First Aid training and Safeguarding training. Alice has some brilliant and unusual activity ideas and also thrives in making the environment look welcoming and exciting for all of our pre-school children, Alice has worked across all ages at the nursery but is currently based in pre-school.
Sarah is due to complete her level 3 in Early Years this year. Sarah has an excellent knowledge of attachment theories and how relationships are first made when welcoming new starters into the setting. Sarah has her First Aid training and Safeguarding training. Sarah has previously worked within a primary school.
Rebecca is one of our newest staff members and works within our pre-school room. She is qualified to level 3 and has years of experience within early years education! Rebecca has great relationships with all the children within pre-school.
Kristy has been at the nursery for over 15 years. She has a level 4 in childcare and enjoys working with the toddlers. Kirsty has completed both her First Aid and Safeguarding training. Kristy has a calm and caring nature which she uses to settle in the youngest children within the nursery.
Julie currently works in our toddler room, Julie has her NVQ level 3 in Childcare. Julie really enjoys messy play with the children. Julie ensures the room looks exciting and inviting for all the children with her continually updating displays with the children’s artwork! Julie has completed both her First Aid and Safeguarding training.
Helen is NVQ level 3 qualified in Early Years. Helen has worked at the nursery for over 20 years and has a wealth of early years’ experience. Helen has completed both her First Aid and Safeguarding training.
Heather has worked at the nursery for over two years. Heather works within our mighty oaks afterschool and holiday club! Heather has an excellent relationship with the out of school club children. She thrives in planning and implementing a variety of exciting activities for them.

All staff are subject to DBS checks and vetting processes, in accordance with statutory requirements and have completed training in safeguarding children.
We provide a staffing ratio in line with the welfare requirements of the EYFS to ensure high quality care and education.
Regular staff meetings provide opportunities for staff to undertake curriculum planning and to discuss children’s progress and any additional support required.
