Year 7 Bookbuzz

Dear Parents/Carers,

 

Today our Year 7 students had their Bookbuzz launch assembly. Bookbuzz is an exciting initiative from Book Trust to encourage students in their reading. The research behind this programme has shown that the transition from primary to secondary school is a crucial time when formative attitudes towards reading develop.

 

The students now have a week to think about their choice of book – a book they get to keep at no cost to you. Next week (Monday 23rd September onwards) their tutor will get them to make their choice of books.

 

It’s a huge scheme with lots of schools participating so we don’t know when the books will arrive except that it will be before Christmas.
