PARK Farm, Melbourne school trip

06 Jun 2018

CONSENT FORM for completion and return

I am delighted to inform you that your child has been selected to go on the FREE Park Farm trip (25 students from Y7 Y8 Y9). This cross-curricular visit linking with geography, food technology and careers offers an excellent opportunity for students to gain an insight into life on a farm, the food chain and careers in farming.

During the day students will have the opportunity to:

  • Explore a local mixed farm – looking at both crops & animals
  • Investigate the need to diversify
  • Gain an understanding of ‘farm to fork’ – where our food comes from
  • Explain the 5 freedoms animals have the right to
  • Describe the day to day life of a farmer
  • Consider different careers within farming

We anticipate leaving school around 09:15 and returning at approximately 15:00. Students should arrive at school as usual, and meet at the astro at 09:00 after registration.

Dress code - students are not required to wear school uniform, but please check the weather forecast to make a decision on sun cream and raincoats. Students must wear trousers and bring a pair of wellies with them. Please let us know in advance if bringing wellies will be a problem as we may be able to provide them.

Food and drink - students will need to bring a packed lunch and drinks for the day.  Please ensure that any drink is carried in a suitable container. Packed lunches will be provided for students who would normally receive free school meals - please let us know beforehand if you would like us to arrange this for your child.

Medical - the journey will take about thirty minutes. Students who are prone to travel sickness must ensure they sit at the front of the coach.  Students who require inhalers/medication must bring them with them.

Please complete and return the CONSENT FORM as soon as possible.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
