Group 2 - Wednesday 11 to Friday 13 April

The total cost of the visit can now be confirmed at £140 (£50 already paid). We are looking to take payment for the remainder of the balance in instalments on the following dates (please note that all payments are non-refundable):

(Arrangements may be available to support parents/families who are eligible for financial support. Please contact us if you would like to discuss this further.)

I am currently in the process of finalising the final version of the activity programme and when this in place I will send the itinerary and organise an information evening for parents.

In the meantime, if you have any further questions, please do get in touch.

September 2017

We are very excited to be launching our residential visit to Entrust Outdoors’ Laches Wood centre, for a 3-day adventure beginning Monday 9 April or Wednesday 11 April 2018

There are many recognised benefits to be gained from engaging in residential, outdoor learning visits. These include personal and social development, where independence, team work, confidence and self-esteem can be raised and strengthened through fun and challenging group activities, often in new and natural surroundings. Many of these benefits can be transferred back to the classroom and beyond where they can have real and lasting impact.

Working in teams, your child will participate in a number of adventurous activities and sleep in dormitories with friends, and with school staff close by. We suggest you take a look at the short Entrust film available on their website at:

The total cost of the visit is £141 per student plus the cost of the coach travel which is to be confirmed. This will include insurance, meals, activities and accommodation. We are confident that this will be a truly memorable and valuable experience for your child and a great opportunity for all our children in year 7 to enjoy an adventure together, creating and sharing memories that can last a lifetime.

We wanted to give you plenty of notice so you can plan and budget for your child’s visit. (Arrangements may be available to support parents/families who are eligible for financial support. Please contact us if you would like to discuss this further.)

We have been able to reserve enough spaces for 60 students travelling in two groups of 30 students which will be filled on a first come first saved basis (by paying the initial non-refundable deposit of £50 via ParentPay). However, as with all trips, students' attendance and behaviour points will be taken into account by the educational visits coordinator and trip leader when deciding if individual students can go on the trip. If your child would like to go on this trip, please pay the £50 deposit via ParentPay by Friday 13 October 2017.

In the meantime, if you have any concerns or would like further information, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Refunds: refunds will only be made in the event of the trip being over-subscribed. If parents voluntarily remove their child from the trip, for any reason, or the school decides that the child cannot travel due to behaviour concerns (except for the initial deposit prior to the final list of students being approved), no refunds will be made. Furthermore, parents will be liable for the full cost of the trip once the final list of students has been approved.
