Year 9 - Alton Towers - £28.00 per student (leave 09:15 - return approximately 19:15)
Students should arrive at school in the morning and register with their form tutors in the usual way.
Payment must be paid in full on or before Friday 14 June via ParentPay only. If you feel you are entitled to financial support for this trip as a low income family then please contact the college as soon as possible so we may discuss this further.
Students are not required to wear school uniform but they will need to have comfortable shoes or trainers and appropriate clothing as they will be outdoors all day. Dress code guidance will be issued to students nearer the date of the trip.
Food and drink
Students will need to bring a packed lunch and drinks for the day or food may be purchased from the venue. Please ensure that any drink is carried in a suitable container. Packed lunches will be provided for students who would normally receive free school meals - please let us know beforehand if you would like us to arrange this for your child.
Medical and travel
The coach journeys will take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. Traffic conditions may cause delays so the return times are only approximate - parents will get updates by text if delays are expected. Students who are prone to travel sickness must ensure they sit at the front of the coach. Students who take any form of medication must make the necessary arrangements before the trip and notify the teachers so that any medication can be administered safely.
We expect all students to behave responsibly and safely whilst on the trip and to be polite and courteous at all times. If we feel that any student is not behaving in an appropriate manner, we will contact parents to inform them of the situation. In exceptional circumstances we may have to ask parents to collect their child from the venue if no other solution can be found.
Please note that your child’s place on this trip will be subject to their behaviour in and around the college (meeting the college behaviour expectations) and dependent on their overall attendance meeting the target that they have been set. Students must also be on track to meet expected targets across the curriculum. This is in line with the college behaviour, trips and visits policies.
It is the final decision of the Head of School as to whether a child is safe to go on the trip and represent the college.
If your child chooses to bring a mobile phone or other electronic device on the trip, Ibstock Community College accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to such items.
There will be a number of staff accompanying students on the trip and a trained first aider on each coach.
Parents will need to make their own arrangements to collect their child from school at the end of the day. As the legal guardian or parent/carer with parental responsibility, please complete the CONSENT FORM and return to school by Friday 14 June.
If parents voluntarily remove their child from the trip, for any reason, or the school decides that the child cannot travel due to behaviour concerns, no refunds will be made. Furthermore, parents will be liable for the full cost of the trip once the final list of students has been approved.
