Dear parent / carer,
Our students are continually striving to produce better and better products, using more innovative technology, creative materials and methods of manufacture. To enable the art and design and technology departments to continue to provide our students with a wide variety of opportunities to make and take home the products they design, we ask parents for a contribution of £10 per student towards the cost of materials. Your contribution will go towards the cost of products made in resistant materials, systems and control, textiles, art and food. Our projects are an excellent preparation for the rigours of GCSE coursework to come and provides our students with all the skills necessary to achieve great success in the subject.
As explained in our charging policy, if a contribution is not received from parents, students will be unable to take home any food or other items produced during lesson time. As some ingredients for food technology will need to be provided from home separately, food produced during lesson time may be taken home by students.
We believe that no student should be disadvantaged as a result of home or family background circumstances and apply a remissions policy. If you feel you are entitled to financial support for this contribution please contact us so we may discuss this further.
The £10 parental contribution can be paid via ParentPay by following the link to our website . Please ensure that you transfer the funds into the ‘Art / D&T contribution’ section for your contribution to be deposited correctly.
We remain extremely grateful for the fantastic support from parents and carers and look forward to working closely with you during the next year.
